I just got these pictures, a bomb just exploded in Festac. The bridge linking Festac extension to the main Festac. I do not have too much information at the moment, all I
have is that one person was killed during the explosion.

A middle-aged businessman, Oladele Pius, was killed when a bomb which was planted under FESTAC/Mile 2 link bridge, Lagos - few metres away from his office - exploded.
According to witnesses, the sand dealer was passing by when the bomb exploded. He died on the spot.

It could not yet be ascertained whether he was actually the target of those who planted the bomb or not.

At the time of filing this report, the scene of the incident has been cordoned off by armed mobile police officers while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary.
Pius is survived by his two wives and five children.

Sources at the scene of the incident said that the legs of a policeman who visited the deceased were shattered as a result of the explosion.

The police have confirmed the death of one person in an explosion that occurred under the Festac link bridge, linking Festac Town to Amuwo Odofin Housing Estate.

The Nigerian police say the man who died was the leader of a sand dredgers association.
