After a keenly contested season, rigorous training and days of sleeping in the rain, 24 year-old Paschal Eronmose has emerged winner of the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) Season 9!
During the 27th episode, only 4 were
left out of the initial 12 contestants that entered the rugged Usaka
jungle. The competition came down to the wire with the last four: Nuhu Zigwayi, James Adah, Paschal Eronmose and Onyinye Udodi.
Onyinye, for being the Last Woman Standing automatically
got N1 million irrespective of how her quest in the competition
ended. Incidentally and for the first time in the history of GUS, a
female was the first runner-up.
Crunch time finally arrived. After
spending the night in a deserted old oil mill, they were subjected to
what would be the first of four tasks of the adventure in the grand
finale.
After solving riddles, the four warriors were given a map to guide them to the ultimate prize: The Gate Keeper’s fortune.
The question on everyone’s lips was –
Will Onyinye stave off the competition from the three other finalists,
Paschal Eronmose, James Adah and Nuhu Zigwayi, to become the very first
female winner of Gulder Ultimate Search or will one of the men nick the
Ultimate Prize for the 9th time? After a rigorous search through the jungle, Paschal emerged winner!
For his feat, Paschal will cart home the
N9 million grand prize, N500,000 swagger allowance and a brand new 2012
SUV. Onyinye however gets the sum of N4 million as total prize money –
made up of N3 million for emerging second placed contestant and N1
million for emerging Gulder Ultimate Search last female contestant
standing.
